DIEM in ITEA-ARTEMIS Co-summit

DIEM was selected among the TIVIT programmes to be presented in ITEA-ARTEMIS Co-summit on October 25.-26. The DIEM demo to be highlighted was a technology mash-up related to gym-style exercise environments.

The demo consisted of a micropayment system, touch feedback feature and aquarium visualization for personal exercise and development levels. The system was based on Smart-M3 interoperability technology. The opportunities provided by the technology arose a lot of interest among co-summit visitors, as the interoperability issues between different devices, applications and services have been a well-known challenge for a long time.

The visitors were also interested in the future of the smart exercise environment, as the whole concept is very close to a solution ready to be commercialized.

"The feedback from demo was encouraging and we got a lot of ideas for further development. ITEA-ARTEMIS co-summit was a good way to promote DIEM (and TIVIT) activities and create new connections to the big, European research projects", comments Tero Tulppo (University of Oulu), the main responsible of DIEM demo.
