Integrated User Interface

The Integrated User Interface deliverable describes Visual UI application on BIM extensions to the integrated oBIX & BIM based on Ambient User Interface. This report also introduces the idea about widget-based user interfaces.

The Visual UI application combines building information model visualization and real time information retrieval from building automation devices. It enables exploring the 3D BIM model and BACS devices related to the user given RFID tag. The application is coded with C# programming language as a Windows application and it uses OpenTK as OpenGL graphics library. TNO’s Bimserver service is used as a BIM server for storing building information data.

This deliverable is a continuation of the previous working paper DIEM BA oBIX / BIM Applications – Ambient 3D User Interface, which was made on 2nd DIEM season. This deliverable describes mainly the changes and improvements made to the application since the previous working paper. The main new features are
- Retrieval of the flow instances’ coordinates
- Drawing of the flow instances
- Retrieval of electrical circuit information
- Light switching
- New UI check boxes
