Applications Based on Intelligent Metering Unit (IMU)

Intelligent Metering Unit (IMU) developed by a Finnish company MX Electrix Oy is able to meter energy, to monitor power quality and to record power signatures of appliances.

Following applications are possible to be developed by using IMU installed in the electricity supply of a house:
1. Combining power quality problems and appliances switching on and off
2. Monitoring energy consumption of individual appliances
3. Surveillance of use of appliances by old people
4. Demand response verification
5. Fault diagnosis of appliances
6. Load control based on frequency.
