Server-Side Mash-Ups Using MapReduce Computation Model

This software, MashReduce is developed for running remote computations in a server grid. The architecture is based on Google's MapReduce which allows to run heavy tasks on parallel using multiple computers. MashReduce is built with web technologies and the primary goal is to use the application for building server side mash-ups.

The development of the mash-up software that runs in the grid is facilitated by the use of MapReduce computing model and many helper utilities. From the user perspective, MashReduce is a server that provides a user interface for web browser and an API for custom clients. A particularly interesting scenario is a mobile device that accesses the MashReduce grid with a custom made mobile client. Mobile devices lack the most in processing power and the easy to use API of MashReduce allows them to tap into the power reserves of a scalable grid.
